WPC FIREWALL SYSTEM

Class A Fire-Rated Composite Fencing — The Look of Wood. The Safety of Fire-Rated Materials.

The Look of Wood. Zero Wood Fire Risk.

The WPC Firewall System delivers a warm, natural wood aesthetic using advanced Wood-Plastic Composite technology backed by a rigid aluminum frame — Class A fire-rated, virtually maintenance-free, and built to last.

Product Overview

WPC stands for Wood-Plastic Composite — a next-generation building material that blends wood fiber and thermoplastic polymers to create a product that looks and feels like real wood, but performs far beyond it.

The FS Firewall Systems WPC Fence is a complete fencing system built around a structural aluminum frame — featuring end posts, line posts, corner posts, top and bottom rails, side frames, and post spacers — all designed to receive WPC board infill panels. The result is a fence with the warm horizontal-plank aesthetic of natural wood fencing, but with none of the vulnerabilities: no rot, no insects, no moisture damage, no painting, and most importantly — Class A fire resistance.

This is the product for homeowners in wildfire-prone areas who refuse to sacrifice style for safety.

Key Benefits

Class A Fire Rated

Tested and rated to ASTM E84 / E2768-11 standards. The WPC Firewall System meets Class A fire requirements — the highest level of fire resistance available for building materials.

No Maintenance Required

WPC does not require painting, staining, sealing, or treating. The material resists fading, warping, and surface degradation over time.

Moisture & Rot Resistance

Unlike natural wood, WPC does not absorb water. It will not rot, swell, split, or deteriorate from moisture exposure — ideal for California's varied climate conditions.

Insect Resistant

WPC is not a food source for termites or other wood-boring insects, eliminating one of the primary long-term failure modes of traditional wood fencing.

Aluminum Structural Frame

The rigid aluminum frame system provides superior structural integrity, corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability across temperature ranges.

Natural Wood Aesthetic

The warm, horizontal-plank appearance of WPC boards closely mimics premium hardwood decking — delivering a high-end look without the high-end maintenance.

System Components

The WPC Firewall System is a complete, engineered fencing system. Every component is designed to work together:

Aluminum Frame Components

End Post Terminates fence runs at property edges and corners — provides anchored termination point for panel installation.
Line Post Intermediate structural post used between panel sections along a continuous fence run.
Corner Post Engineered for 90-degree and angled transitions — allows clean turns without cutting or custom fabrication.
Top/Bottom Rail Horizontal aluminum rails that receive and lock WPC board infill into place from the top down.
Side Frame Vertical edge framing that completes the panel assembly and finishes exposed edges cleanly.
Post Spacer Maintains consistent spacing between infill boards during installation for a uniform horizontal pattern.
Bracket Heavy-duty connection hardware that secures rail assemblies to posts at correct height.

Fence Panels & Gates

WPC Fence Panel — Full-height privacy panel assembled from aluminum frame and WPC board infill. Available in standard panel configurations.

WPC Gate — Matching gate unit using the same WPC board infill and aluminum frame as the fence panels, creating a seamless appearance across the entire fence line. Includes gate latch and hinge hardware.

Fire Rating

ASTM E84 / E2768-11 — Class A Fire Rated

The WPC Firewall System has been tested to ASTM E84 (Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials) and ASTM E2768-11. A Class A rating is the highest fire-resistance classification available — indicating the material has a very low flame spread index and low smoke development. This rating is accepted by building departments and is required in many high-fire-hazard severity zones (VHFHSZ) across California.

Installation Overview

The WPC Firewall System can be installed using two primary post methods:

Surface Mount Installation

Ideal for installations on concrete, pavers, or other hard surfaces where in-ground post placement is not practical. Posts are positioned, marked, pre-drilled, and secured using appropriate surface fasteners and base plates. Support feet slide down post grooves and rest on base plates for a clean finished look.

Standard installation method for soil-based installations. Posts are set in holes dug to frost line depth with gravel fill and concrete mix — ensuring a plumb, stable foundation. Posts should be set with approximately 2 inches of clearance between the bottom panel edge and ground level.

Once posts are set, the WPC Board Frame slides down the groove from the top of the post to rest on the bottom rail. WPC boards are then slid in from the top one at a time, using tongue-and-groove engagement to ensure tight, consistent fit. Once all boards are in place, the bracket is secured into the post and top rail. Post cap and top spacer complete the assembly.

Important: Ensure WPC boards are fully nested in the bottom rail and tongue & groove connections are fully engaged before securing top bracket.

Applications

The WPC Firewall System is an ideal choice for:

Residential perimeter fencing in California wildfire zones and high-fire-hazard severity zones (VHFHSZ)

Backyard privacy fencing for homes in HOA communities requiring natural wood aesthetics

Replacement for aging wood fencing where maintenance burden or fire risk has become a concern

New construction where code compliance, modern design, and long-term durability are all required

Pool perimeter fencing where a warm, upscale look is desired without wood’s maintenance demands

Commercial landscape fencing for multifamily housing, parks, and mixed-use developments
